Summer 2016

The development of St. David’s Park was initially proposed in the Mount Pearl Parks and Recreation Master Plan prepared by the Tract team in 2005. Illustrating the benefit of having a long term plan to guide the development of recreation assets.

St Davids is an example of a park that can successfully integrate commemoration and play in the same place. Since the Park was completed the City has retained Tract to design and provide oversight on the installation of the Province’s first “smart playground” at the site.

The signature park in the City of Mount Pearl, St. David’s, is designed as a modern urban park with a variety of activity areas (walking loop, boulder park, stage and special event space) that respond to the area’s demographic and stated recreation preferences. Our landscape architects worked closely with the City and the Royal Canadian Legion to design a new cenotaph that respectfully commemorate those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
