The Expoit’s River at 246km (147mi) is the Province’s longest insular river. The river was featured in the TV show Great Canadian Rivers as one of the most prolific producers of Atlantic salmon in the world.

The Lookout offers great views of the Town’s namesake “Bishop Falls”. Building the aluminum stairs and setting them into the landscape was a challenge.

Tract worked closely with the Town and Exploits Engineering to detail and support construction. The park included parking, lighting, and a picnic area with dramatic views to the mighty Exploits. Since it’s opening the Lookout has become a “go to” place for visitors and residents alike

Roadside Lookouts are a great way to promote significant features in a community, and everyone enjoys a great view. The Lookout provides opportunities to rest, relax and picnic. It also creates the potential for small-scale on-site commercial venues: coffee shop and snack bar, local crafts or sitdown restaurant.
